The purpose of these headphones is to create a more seamless listening experience. We are often interrupted while listening to music or podcasts and have to search for our phones or file through browser tabs to pause content. With Hiatus, this task is minimized to the motion of removing your headphones by placing a pause button conveniently on the side.

The transition between a concave/convex surface and extruded symbols makes the button side of the pendant easily identifiable.


The headphone band simply slides through an ABS sleeve that has been overmolded with a soft TPE bushing.  This way the headphones can  pivot on all axes without the use of complex hinges.

This project was completed during my time at UrbanLab Design. The concept is based off of having two waterjet cut profiles creating the structure of the chair.



The manual floor sweeper market has seen little progression. An opportunity was noticed for improving the usability and also to update the aesthetics to align with current interior design.
